Best Practices for Messaging with a candidate

Follow the tips below on how best to message candidates.

Work Smarter, Not Harder

The most effective way to communicate with candidates is by using Messaging Templates. This ensures you provide consistent information while saving hours of typing.

Recommended Templates to Create:

1. Introduction (Outbound): Use this for candidates who haven't applied yet.

"Hi, my name is [Your Name], I am the [Title] at [Company]. We noticed your profile and would like you to apply to our position of [Job Name]. You can reach me here or email me at [Email Address]."

2. Acknowledgment (Inbound): Use this for candidates who just applied.

"Thank you for applying for our [Job Name] role. My name is [Your Name]. We will be reviewing your application within the next 3 business days."

Manage Applications in Bulk

Do not waste time moving candidates one by one. You can select multiple applicants and move them to a new stage (e.g., "In Review" or "Interview") simultaneously.

Communication Standards

To secure top talent, follow these guidelines:

  • The 24-Hour Rule:
We see a sharp decline in candidate interest if you do not respond within 24 hours. Aim to respond within a couple of hours whenever possible.
  • Check Notifications:
Click the Bell Icon (top right) 2–3 times a day to catch new messages instantly.
  • Set Clear Deadlines:
When asking a candidate for a task (like a video resume), always give a deadline (e.g., "Please submit this within 24–48 hours").
