Stripe Currency exchange rate

Learn how Stripe applies currency exchange rates, including mid-market rates, possible fees, and where to view or estimate rates.

Understanding Stripe's exchange rate

When you make a transaction that involves converting currencies, Stripe uses the mid-market exchange rate. This rate is essentially the average between the buying and selling prices of a currency, sourced from reputable third-party providers.

It's important to note that while Stripe applies this mid-market rate, there may be additional fees associated with the currency conversion. For detailed information on these fees, you can refer to Stripe's pricing page.

To estimate the current exchange rates Stripe might use, you can visit their Currency Estimation page. After a transaction is processed, the exact exchange rate applied can be viewed through Stripe's API or directly in your Stripe Dashboard.
