How do I manage my Remote Team Member?

To effectively manage your Remote Team Member, create a form based on the agenda below and schedule a recurring weekly meeting on the same day/time for consistency.

Weekly Meeting Agenda
  • Good News (5 mins): Start on a positive note by sharing professional or personal good news.
  • Scorecard Review (5 mins): Review measurables. If a number is off-track, move it to the Issues List. Ask: "What can we do in the future to get this number on track?"
  • Issues List (15 mins): Work on the process to make the role more effective and efficient.
    • What is the biggest challenge you face?
    • What can I do as the supervisor to help you achieve your goals?
  • Stress level (5 mins): Ask for a stress scale of 1 - 10. This builds loyalty and helps you understand if a Remote Team Member is overwhelmed or facing outside challenges.
